BH Cosmetics 120 Palette 4th Edition Review

Hey guys,

So today I'm reviewing this BH cosmetics 120 palette and this is the 4th edition.
Palette is available Here!! for a whooping $16.95 reduced from $34.95
Before I begin I would just like to point out that I SUCK at reviews and swatches but I do try my best. I have so many highly requested reviews and I would hate to leave you guys down :(

This 120 palette was sent to me by BH Cosmetics about a year ago as a thank you after a set up a bloggers meet up, I never did do a review as I wasnt totally blown away by the palette.
I have purchased two 88 palettes from costal scents and I loved how pigmented they were compared to the BH palette so I never really gave it a chance.

I always prefer to use Drugstore brands in my tutorials as my videos are about TEACHING not PROMOTING plus they are less expensive and the results are always just as good.
Over the last few weeks, I've been using this palette more in my videos as this palette has a huge range of colours and it's the perfect palette for beginners, why buy 20 palettes when you can buy one??! and better yet... It's a bargin!!!!

Now that I've given the palette a chance, I do feel that it's a bargin for the price however I still feel some of the colours are not as pigmented as I would like or compared to other cheaper brands like MUA, and Coastal Scents.

As you can see from this swatch although the colours are nice and bright you can still see my skin underneath, On the eye these coloured don't look as pigmented but like I said earlier this doesn't apply to all the eyeshadows just a few. This problem can be fixed by using a primer or base underneth the eyeshadow especially if it's a similar colour, this will instantly make the shadows look more intense.

I would give this palette 7 out of 10 mostly for the cheap price tag and the huge selection of colours that never let me down.
Would I purchase again? No but I do find it handy. I find myself reaching for it when I can't find a colour I'm looking for.

Here's one of my tutorials:

Hope you guys like this review.
Love Always

Back to Basic's part 4: blush and bronzer

Hey girls,

So as promised here's part 4 of my back to basic's series :)

Part 1: concealer Click Here
Part 2: foundation Click Here
Part 3: powder Click Here

Why do we use Blush?
Blush is used to brighten and add life to your face.

What shade would suit my skin tone?

ivory/beige skin: a soft pink works best
mature skin: a peach blush will look more natural and fresher
olive skin: a blush with warm undertones works best such as cinnamon or copper
Ebony skin: use a blush with warm undertones like apricot

How many types of blush are out there?

Blush comes in 4 different textures:

Powder -works with all skin types, best for oily skin, most popular

Cream - fresh dewy finish and natural glow best for dry skin, and worst for oily skin, apply before powder, don’t need to wear foundation

Natural Collection cream blush in Rosy Pink

Gel - sheer glow, long lasting, looks natural, apply before powder, can use it with or without foundation.
Unfortunately I don't own a gel blush so i have no swatches :( but i know this gel blush from Smashbox is meant to be fantastic! I will be buy it soon and ill put swatches up then.

Liquid- liquid that stains the skin, needs to be blended quickly, waterproof, will last all day

                                                            Opia liquid blush from primark

How do I apply blush:
Smile and apply blush to the apples of your cheeks blending out towards your ear

TIP: For a long lasting blush apply... a cream blush on the apples of cheeks blending towards your ear after you have applied your foundation then powder your face and apply your powder blush.
You can also us lipstick as a cream blush.

Why do we use Bronzer?
Bronzer is used to give a warm healthy glow to the skin

Is there different types of bronzer?
Powder- most popular, easy to control and blend, comes in pressed, loose, balls/beads

Cream- great on dry skin or if you don’t want to wear foundation

You can also us a liquid foundation 1 or 2 shades darker than your foundation as a bronzer

Tip: I would recommend using a matte bronzer, sometimes bronzer's with a shimmer can look unnatural and make any textural flaws look more obvious!!!!

How to apply bronzer:
Dust bronzing powder along outer edges of your face and cheekbones with a fluffy brush, start at the back of cheekbone and sweep it forward and up to the temples

If your using a cream dot the colour along cheek bone and blend

You can also apply bronzer all over your face to give you a natural tan rather than using a foundation that is to dark for you.

Back to Basic's part 5: Highlighting and contouring will be up tomorrow

Don't forget to check out my friends You Tube videos for more basic tips :)

        Hope this was helpful! :)

i heard alot about this palette so i decided to try it myself and i absolutely love it! it has so many cute shades of pink to choose from and its a must have for doing other peoples makeup :)

swatches are in order starting from top left hand corner!!
(i forgot the 8th blush so its the last swatch on my outer arm)

My next purchase is urban decays ammo shadow box

I love urban decays eyeshadow palettes their packaging is so pretty and their eyeshadows are so vibrant!!
The only negative thing i have to say about urban decay is that their eyeshadows have to much glitter in them causing alot of fall out so watch out for that!!

My next purchase is multistylo in shimmering bronze from avon!

this is a 3 in 1!!!! it can be used as an eyeshadow, lipstick or on your cheeks!
i didnt like this colour on my lips because it was to dark and i didnt like it as a eyeshadow as it was to sticky on my eyes but it made a great highlight on the balls of my cheeks :)
it gave my cheeks a nice sun kissed glow perfect for a hot summers day!

multistylio in shimmering bronze from avon
                                                3 in 1 for eyes,lips and cheeks!
