Social Media Vs Reality

This topic is really important to me even tho I ADORE Social Media, If it wasn’t for social media I wouldn’t have a business, It’s a great tool for marketing yourself, reaching new people and making new friends but there is also that ugly side of social media which can totally destroy a persons confidence.
Ok let’s get this straight once and for all, social media is used as a highlight reel. We put up our best photos, best moments, best feelings, best memories, If your a blogger or influencer all photos go through a intense screening process of editing and filtering until we feel it’s professional enough for Instagram, we do not put up our bad angles, bad days, struggles and pains….
It’s easy to fall into the comparison trap even as a blogger, This is my biggest weakness. I have a bad day and look at other bloggers and compare myself…. “Why does she have a bigger following and I started 5 years before her, how are her photos so perfect, her outfits are unreal, I wish I had more engagement, My photos aren’t good enough, why do I bother….”  I did this un-subconsciously for years until someone pointed it out to me recently.
Why do we do this?? Why are we so hard on ourselves??
We look at these photos and only see the perfect image before us and forget what might be going on behind closed doors. No one’s life is perfect and no one feels they have the perfect figure even tho they look perfect to you!
Life is for living and is too short to sit and compare yourself to other people. We should all be enjoying what life we have- it’s far too short! Social media is an amazing business tool, but I’m very aware of the negative impact it can have on my confidence and self love and how important it is to only see others as inspiration or motivation to work harder.
Take that time away from social media to live your life in the moment and create those memories you don’t always feel the need to share on social media…..
Those moments are pricelesss!!!!

Remember you are loved and you are good enough!
Love always

MakeupBySaz Masterclass Cork

Good Morning,

So If you follow me on any social media you know that I held my first ever masterclass in Debenhams, Patricks Street, Cork on Friday with Benefit Cosmetics.
I'll be honest with you guys I was so nervous my legs were like jelly and I was shaking, Public Speaking has always been my biggest fear BUT I DID IT!!!
In school I was always very shy and kept so myself.....little did I know that a few years down the line I'd be standing in front of 40 people talking about makeup!!
My biggest tip to anyone in the same boat is to just believe in yourself and sometimes you have to just feel the fear and do it anyway.

I created a very simple dewy fresh summer look something that everyone would be able to go home and re-create. The first 10 minutes were the hardest but once I got into it I really enjoyed it and having all my viewers and friends there for support definitely calmed me down.
We tried to make it fun and had little spot prizes for every question asked and of course everyone got a little goodie bag.
Now that I've conquered my fear I think It's safe to say I'll definitely be doing more.
Thank you to everyone who came, I hope you enjoyed the night and extra special thank you to Hazel who brought me a lovely card and flowers.
Thank you to my bestie Sinead for being camera woman for the night and taking over my social media and thank you to benefit and blank canvas cosmetics for supplying prizes and goodie bags for everyone.
I feel the love!! lol

New Year - New Beginnings

Helllo :)

Hope you all had a lovely christmas and New Year.

2015 has been a strange year.... many ups and many downs but all we can do is dry our tears and learn from our mistakes and start 2016 like it's a brand new book.
Here are some of my goals for 2016.......

First on my list is to learn how to drive
tho this might seem silly to others its always been a fear of mine, not entirely sure where the fear came from but this year I've decided its about time I faced my fears.
I've already passed my theory so looking forward to getting started :D

Second is to hit the gym and start to watch what I eat. I know we are all sick of hearing this one and everyone hits the gym for the first week of the new year and then we all forget but this year I've decided to make a change not only to get in shape but to cook healthier meals which in turn will help me feel and look better from the inside out.

I'm very dedicated to my youtube channel uploading twice a week click here but one thing I slack on is blogging and social media.
Blogging has been my life since 2010 and since I started my youtube channel my blog has been neglected but this year I wanna change that and work blogging into my schedule.

Come follow me :)

or Add me as a friend on my public account Sarah Frances

Snapchat: makeupbysaz (most active totally obsessed)

It's always been a dream of mine to go swimming with dolphins so this year I'm going to make it happen!! I'm heading to Las vegas, LA and San Diego this May for a dream holiday and this is most definitely on my list! Add me on snapchat to keep up to date, I will be posting like a mad woman haha!

Looking back at 2015 one thing I lacked was Adventures.
I worked my butt off in 2015 with my job in benefit as a brow expert, building my MUA skills and making videos for my youtube channel but one thing I definitely lacked was more FUN which most definitely needs to change!!!!!
Sinead (@SineadyCady) and myself were always off on our little adventures and I totally miss that.
Can't wait to plan our next one.

What are your goals for the new year??
Love Always,
Saz xx

P.S Look back on my past looks and whats to come on my channel in 2016

My Daily Routine & Must Have Products

First things first Skincare. I cant do anything else unless I've cleansed and Moisturised my skin I use
Origins Clean Energy Cleansing Oil. This is a lightweight cleansing oil for all skin types filled with Natural Organic Ingredients, doesn't clog up your pores and leaves your skin feeling nourished and fresh.

To lock in that nourishment I lather my skin with Benefits Triple Performing Oil free Moisturizer and move onto my makeup.
My New favourite Foundation has to be Laura Mercier Silk creme foundation. It's a beautiful lightweight but good coverage matte foundation, leaves your skin looking flawless all day long.

After working long hours I need a good full coverage concealer to hide those under eye circles and blemishes. I'm loving Amazing Cosmetics Concealer in Fair golden. It's yellow based so it literally covers every discolouration but doesn't feel too heavy or cakey.

As I'm as pale as a ghost I need to add some warmth to my skin so I love Benefits Hoola Bronzer as It's not to heavy or muddy on my skin and gives my face a natural lift and glow. My top tip with bronzer is to build it up slowly applying too much at once will just give you a muddyy/dirty appearance.

Next I load on my favourite Blush Benefits Rockateur,
It's a Rose gold blush with a lovely sheen to it but not glitter so it suits all skin tones and ages.

The Balm Mary Lou Manizer is a beautiful gold highlighter, it's not too harsh or chunky and the pigmentation is out of this world, I highly recommend it.

To make my eyes look more awake I love to apply a little bit of NYX Wonder pencil on my water line, It also doubles up as a concealer and Reverse Lip liner which is great for muting lips if you want to over draw them.

EOS lip balms are always in my makeup bag, I find them great for keeping my lips hydrated and they are full with antioxidants.

Urban Decay is one of my favourite cosmetic brands at the moment as they dont use any parabens/chemicals and are cruelty free!
This All nighter setting spray is one of the best Ive tried and your makeup literally does not move for the day!!!!

My favourite Lip combo has to be NYX Natural lipliner and The balm Ma bills be paid Nude Lipstick.... STUNNING!!!

  Hope you enjoyed this post!
        Love Always xXx

Invisalign Treatment - My Decision

Hey Guys,

So after a long long break I've decided to return to the world blogging...

Today I'm going to talk about something that has bothered me for a very very long time and that's my TEETH!!
Since I was a little girl I've HATED my teeth, they bothered on a day to day basis. I would never smile in pictures, I would cover my mouth alot when I smiled and I found it affected my confidence ALOT!!!! ....

I went to get braces back when I was just 14 years old but unfortunately my teeth weren't 'classed' as bad enough to be covered by the government so I had no other option but to go private.
After I had my moulds done the dentist told my parents it would cost 5,000 and he needed a grand upfront to go ahead with the treatment. At the time I had a little brother and another on the way and of course that was alot of money for any parents to hand out especially on teeth, I was too young to understand the value of money and I was very disappointed that I couldn't go ahead with my treatment.

I started my blog back in 2010 which give me a new lease of life and I found it easy enough to hide my teeth in pictures and I could be that fun confident person I've always wanted to be, However when I finally plucked up the courage to start making youtube videos, I started receiving comments on my teeth which brought all the pain back again.

After christmas this year I made a big career move and settled into a really good permanent job so I decided to look into braces again.
I took the plunge in february and went in for a free consultation for invisalign and after a pay monthly scheme was announced I decided to go ahead with the treatment.

Invisalign is a clear brace that is cliped onto your teeth, It works exactly like braces except you can barely notice them, you clip them out for a max of 2 hours a day to eat so theres no limits on what you can eat or drink.
The total cost of Invisalign treatment is 3,500 but I know it will be worth EVERY penney......

I will keep you posted with a monthly diary of my treatment :)
Love you lots

Lusting Over Stripes

Hey Guys,
Stripes again???? Yes It's true I'm lusting over stripes....

Totally fell in LOVE with this oasis skirt even tho it's so similar to my midi skirt I just loved the lengh and the shape, looks so cute and feminine
Of course I had to finish it off with a pop of colour.
Ankle boots add a bit of edge to this outfit and makes it a little more casual for work as I'm on my feet all day, but kitten heels would totally rock this outfit :)

**Outfit Details**
Blouse: Oasis (old)
Skirt/Statement chain: Oasis (New)
Bag/Boots: Primark

One dress.....Two ways

Hello My lovelys,

Today's post is a little bit different to my usual Outfit of the day.
I'm going to show you two different ways you can style one dress.
This brings me back to the fashion posts I used to do when I first starting Blogging.... Good times!!
20 ways to wear a black skirt is still my most viewed post and gosh it's so cringy now hehe but It's also so nice to see how my style how grown and how my pictures have Improved. <3
Hope you like this post and let me know what you think :)
Makeup Tutorial coming soon.......

Style 1:
Red Red Red!!!!
I always say If you have a boring old dress in your wardrobe add a pop colour, It instantly makes ANY dress look gorgeous.
Navy, White and Red will ALWAYS look fab together.
I toned the look down with a brown bag, Neutrals always work well with prints or patterns....
and some gold jewellery.
Gold is my favourite at the moment, I think depending on how it's worn, of course, It looks very classy.

Dress: Primark (love how it brings out my tan)
Shoes: Primark
Watch: Guess?!
LV Dupe Bag: New York

Style 2:
Statement!!!!!
Statement jewellery ROCK MY WORLD!
They add style and completely transform a outfit.
I love blinging up dresses, changing up a boring old jumper in winter, popping one inside a blouse or even underneath a collar of a shirt LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE......
Since I have so much going on, on top I stayed clear of any other jewellery besides a small thumb ring.
I love to add a little bit of interest to my hands, and rings really suit me without being OTT.
Again I toned down the look with neutrals and added another pop of colour as I thought the pink worked really well with this look and warm colours also bring out your tan :)

Statement Chain: ASOS Gift from fellow Irish blogger Fitz n bitz
Clutch: Primark
Shoes: Faith
Ring: New Look

Love Always
